The gossip site, based out of Scottsdale Arizona, is owned and operated by Nik Ritchie.  Instead of slinging dirt on celebrities, its main focus is on normal, everyday people.

Number of female electrician apprentices grows as demand to increase in Alberta

Have you ever had a female electrician come to fix your lights? Do you see females in the picture when you think of a construction site or the oilfields?

In Alberta only 5.4 per cent of registered electrician apprentices are female.

This number has risen since 2005 when females made up only 3.6 per cent of electrical apprentices. From 2005, the number of females in the electrician apprentice program has grown from 261 to 590.

This year, eight Calgarians under 30, were part of the cohort named for Top 40 Under 40

To be a 20-something is to fight an uphill battle to get recognized for achievements in our young careers and our lives.

Sometimes, it can take a while before we start to reap the rewards.
