Caia Morstad transitions from royalty to athletics in stride

Her blue eyes and bright smile greeted thousands of people coming from far and wide to take in the Calgary Stampede.

Now, Caia Morstad, a former Stampede princess, is not afraid to work up a sweat on the court for the SAIT Trojan women's volleyball team.

Meet Christopher Wright, 19, a line cook working at Earls on 16th Avenue N.W. in Calgary.

Despite earning $11 per hour in addition to biweekly tips, Wright loves his job.

Calgarians gather downtown to have their voices heard

That slogan was one of many that could be heard echoing throughout downtown Calgary on Saturday afternoon as hundreds of Calgarians took to the streets in support of Occupy Calgary, a peaceful demonstration whose overall purpose and message is as varied as it is passionate.
